Two published US examples

Checked on October 2, 2026: Bethany Straub in The Woodlands, Texas listed a private appointment at US$350 per person; Hayley McNeil in Back Bay, Virginia listed a single appointment at US$300. These are individual examples, not a national average. Confirm current pricing with the provider.

Ask what is included

Ask about appointment length, how fabrics are compared, whether a physical palette is included, and whether makeup or wardrobe advice costs extra. Group sessions may be priced per person, so compare the final total.

Look for a process you can understand

Ask whether the provider uses controlled daylight or a consistent light source, compares actual fabrics, and explains borderline results. A provider should work with all skin depths without assigning a season from ethnicity or one feature alone.

Use a quiz to prepare questions

Bring a few colors you enjoy and a few that are harder to combine. The online quiz is a starting hypothesis, not a certification. You can still make useful decisions without paying for a consultation.
